Riding at the beach is one of those great horse riding must do's.  There are a number of beaches around the Auckland region that allow horse riding. 

When you do go to the beach, remember to always consider others.  Horse riding is one of those activities that tend to polarise people (fairly or not); by constantly being aware of your impact on others you can help to make sure that we all have access to public beaches in the future.
