Having to pay an annual fee is fine if you use a place regularly.  However, if you only ride at a place occassionally, even a small annual fee can make your ride seem expensive.

There are very few places that currently allow a pay-as-you-use payment system.  Pony Club ground fees are the main users of this type of system, but there are others.

Whitford Forest now offers daily and weekly permits!! May 2008

Per-Use Riding and Camping

  • Woodhill WFEP Camping.  WFEP normally requires annual registration to ride in the forest, but if you camp at the nursery campsite you can simply pay an additional small daily fee.
  • Dune Lakes Lodge.  This is a private farm with a number of equine and tourism services.  As well as rather nice accomodation, they also offer day riding and overnight bunkrooms or camping (in your horsetruck or tent).
